Wet n Wild Sun Set To See Eyeshadow

Hey everyone!  Today and the past weekend involved redundant errands.  Why can’t I find ONE store that has everything I need?  Target is one of my favorite stores.  It is my go-to for everyday staples (from toilet paper to laundry detergent), and I love shopping there, as they always have such cool stuff!  But there are two or three items they don’t stock that require a separate trip to Walmart (can’t get it all there either).  Today was the Walmart trip (why, Target, why???).  I noticed they had a huge display outside of all things Fall – gigantic pots of Mums, scarecrows, etc.  Hard to get into the spirit of Fall when it’s still 80 degrees and HOT here in Georgia.  Those poor Mums on display will be obliterated by tomorrow.

So, as hard as I find it to get into the spirit of Autumn, I did notice that my Wet n Wild Sun Set To See Eye shadow might be a great segue!!

Wet n Wild Sun-Set to See Trio

Wet n Wild released some Limited Edition Trios late summer.  Most of the trios were bright, happy, end of summer shades.  Out of all the trios, I loved the one with the orange shade!  Not surprising, as y’all know I lean towards warm colors.

picture-of-wet-n-wild-sun-set-to-see-eye-shadow

Wet n Wild Sun-Set to See Eye Shadow

And this trio did not disappoint!!  To be honest with you, I have never bought a Wet n Wild eye shadow!  I love their lipsticks, but never paid much attention to the shadows.  Shame on me, because at $3 a trio, they are a steal!

Swatches below are over primer:

picture-of-wet-n-wild-sun-set-to-see-swatches

Wet n Wild Sun-Set to See Swatches

The “Browbone” shade to me appeared to be matte.  The “Crease” and “Eyelid” shade were more like a satin matte. But the pigmentation!!!!

picture-of-wet-n-wild-sun-set-to-see-swatches

Wet n Wild Sun Set To See Eye Shadow Swatches

I actually used this trio on it’s own this past week (without any other colors), and loved it.

If you love warm tones, go to your local drugstore, find this baby, and take it home with you.

August Glossybox

Hello my lovelies!  I recently received my August Glossybox, and as I was about to open it up, I thought I’d grab my camera and do an unboxing for you.  Speaking of cameras, I am not sure what is up with mine?  It has been a bit wonky lately on focusing.  It is crystal clear in some areas, and flat out blurry in others.  I have tried various settings, but to no avail.  So please excuse the weirdo photos about to follow.  I was actually not going to do this post because of the pictures, but decided to press on.

picture-of-august-glossybox

August Glossybox

Glossybox is a beauty subscription service that features five luxury products each month.  The boxes range from $18-$21, depending on the plan you chose (free shipping).  I love that the items are always deluxe samples, with a full size thrown in.  This box was their three year anniversary, hence the “3” sticker.  They offer their boxes all over the world, including the UK, France, Korea, and Japan.

A Few MAC Pigments

Hello beautiful people!  I hope everyone had an enjoyable three day weekend!  Mine was perfect because my Dawgs had an awesome victory Saturday!  It was hot as the blue blazes in Athens, and I was miserable in the stadium.  But we won and we looked pretty darn good.  Fingers crossed for a fabulous season.  Not gonna lie, I’m ready for some cooler temps.

Okay, onto more girly subjects.  We adore all things MAC, so I thought I’d share with you a few MAC pigments that I adore!

picture-of-a-few-mac-pigments

A Few MAC Pigments

Let me begin my saying I did not know MAC had a “Sized To Go” collection of some of their most popular items.  They are smaller, travel friendly products that happen to include eight shades of pigment!  I did a beauty swap with the gorgeous Dani from The Love of Lipstick, and she included two of these in my box.  Definitely check out the “Sized To Go” selection for a less expensive way to try out some MAC items you’re interested in!

picture-of-mac-tan-pigment-mac-rose-pigment

(L-R) MAC Tan Pigment, MAC Rose Pigment

“My own” descriptions to follow (all are “frost” formulas):

“Tan” is a rose gold color.  Very pigmented yet not over the top.  “Rose” is a bronzey-pink; very warm but not a stark pink, so you don’t look like you’ve got an eye infection when you wear it.

picture-of-mac-violet-pigment-mac-copper-sparkle-pigment

(L-R) MAC Violet Pigment, MAC Copper Sparkle Pigment

“Violet” is a bright, yet subdued purple.  “Copper Sparkle” is one of my favorites.  It has a rather metallic finish, and really does look copper!

picture-of-mac-melon-pigment-mac-blue-brown-pigment

(L-R) MAC Melon Pigment, MAC Blue Brown Pigment

These are the “Sized To Go” beauties Dani sent me.  “Melon” is a gorgeous, peachy/golden color (think fantasy cantaloupe).  “Blue Brown” I believe is now my absolute favorite pigment.  It is like a duochrome – a rich cinnamon with teal flecks.  *swoon*

Swatches?

Another angle:

picture-of-mac-pigment-swatches

MAC Pigment Swatches top to bottom Tan, Rose, Copper Sparkle, Violet, Melon, Blue Brown

Don’t be intimidated by MAC pigments.  They make for a gorgeous lid color on their own, or to add bling to your finished look.   Since they are so frosty, you may experience some fallout.  Using a tissue under your eyes to catch it helps.  However, if I am going to be using pigments, I wet my brush with MAC Fix+ (water works just as well) before applying.  It definitely makes the color more vibrant!

picture-of-mac-pigment-swatches-with-fix-plus

For comparison purposes, I doused my arm with Fix+ for this shot.  It definitely makes the color more vibrant/wet looking!

Either way, MAC pigments are fabulous!

My Favorite Lash Glue and Lashes

Hello everyone!  The beginning of college football season has honestly just crept up on me.  I knew it was soon, but I just realized this week that the Georgia Bulldogs first game is this Saturday!  We will be in Athens this weekend to root for our Dawgs.  I do love me some college football and I love me some Athens.  Kickoff is at 5:30, and it is going to be a scorcher.

I know football and fake lashes have nothing in common.  But I had to mention my excitement for the upcoming season as well as share my favorite lash glue and lashes.  So there you go.  No logic/rhyme/reason.  Please note that I do not wear falsies to football games.  There is a time and place for that, and an outdoor sporting event in 97 degrees/high humidity is not one of them.  How professional cheerleaders pull it off, I don’t know??

picture-of-favorite-lash-glue-and-lashes

My Favorite Lash Glue and Lashes

I am hyper-sensitive to latex.  Near my eye area, I would consider myself allergic.  Of course that realization came after many trials and tribulations with lash glue.

picture-of-revlon-precision-lash-adhesive

Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive

Enter Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive.  It is latex free (!!!!), and comes in a clear and dark formula.  I have only used the clear (and it actually dries clear on me).

picture-of-revlon-precision-lash-adhesive

Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive

This is a brush on formula that is easy to control and dispenses just the right amount.  It lasts all day for me and wears very comfortably.  In my area, I can only find it at Walmart, and it is like $5.  When you apply it to the lash band, it is an ectoplasmic, glowy blue.  Kinda weird.  It dries quicker than your traditional glue.  One tiny complaint – as you can see in the photo, the glue gets a bit gunky on the applicator wand, and builds up around the opening.  I’ve learned to seal it between uses, but it still gums up to the point you have to toss it before you’ve used it all up.

Now onto the lashes!  Since I am half-Asian and have small eyes, these are the lashes that work best for me.

picture-of-ardell-demi-black-lashes-120

Ardell 120 Demi Black Lashes

My hands down favorite are the Ardell 120 Demis.  These are very natural looking – as if you  were blessed with super thick/lush lashes, and decided to curl them and apply two coats of mascara (You know who you are, Amie, Rosie, Tiffany, Tanya) .  If you are a newcomer to falsies, these are the best to practice/experiment with.  They are super lightweight, and the lash band is very thin and easy to work with.  You can buy them anywhere (drugstore/walmart/target/sally/ulta).  I usually wait until Ulta has a sale, and order online using Ebates (score if it’s Double Cash Back), especially for a multi-pack!  They can also be used multiple times, as long as you take care of them.  My Ulta never has them in stock.

My next beloved line is Red Cherry!

picture-of-red-cherry-213-lashes

Red Cherry 213 Lashes

Red Cherry also offers great lashes that are easy to use.  213 is very natural, but a bit fuller than the Ardell lashes.  One thing I love about Red Cherry is that the band is literally invisible, so if you don’t use eyeliner, no big deal.  You can do a natural eye look without worrying about hiding the band with eyeliner.

picture-of-red-cherry-747s-747l-lashes

Red Cherry 747S and 747L Lashes

Oooh, the 747. Kind of like the airplane.  Super long, super strong, but still on the natural side.  My photo is the 747S (short) and 747L (long).  There is also a 747M (medium), that I didn’t have here to photograph.  The “L” is usually for special occasions, but the “S” and “M” (puh-leese no 50 shades references!!!!) are respectable for daytime.

picture-of-red-cherry-43-lashes

Red Cherry 43 Lashes

Apologies, as this pair has been trimmed and used many times (and still going strong!).  43 is about as glam as I go.  When you have tiny eyes, you’ve got to know your limitations.  This pair is my go to for special occasions/parties/events.  As much as I LOVE Liza Minnelli, I cannot pull of her Bambi-lash glam.

Red Cherry lashes are about $2.50 a pair, and can be used multiple times (with proper care).  I order mine from Madame Madeline, and they ship super fast.

Along my journey to fake lash nirvana, I have made some missteps.

picture-of-bundle-monster-lashes

Bundle Monster Lashes

Bundle Monster (a vendor on ebay and Amazon) offers 70 PAIRS of lashes for $25.  10 pairs of 7 styles.  My photo captures the most natural to the most over the top glam.

picture-of-lash-band-comparison-bundle-monster-lashes

Lash Band Comparison Bundle Monster Lashes

As you can see, the lash band between a Red Cherry and a Monster Bundle lash is night and day.  I personally do not have the skill to apply a thick, unyielding band to my lash line.  But that is my shortfall.  If you can, it is a great value (especially if you wear thick liner).

Oh, the fine line we tread between natural and fake!!!

My Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow Picks

Hey everyone!  “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” is one of my guilty pleasures.  As if that wasn’t lame enough, I actually cried watching the season finale tonight (via the magic of the DVR).  Another one of my shows is over for the season, and I am quickly running out of things to watch.  MUST figure out how to integrate Netflix with my TV.  Just thought I’d share that bit of info with you.  Now onto the important stuff…..

I believe Milani is one of the most beloved drugstore makeup lines.  I honestly can’t think of anything I’ve tried from them that I didn’t like – with the exception of the smell of their lipsticks.  I think I am the only person in the world that has an issue with the scent.  So when they introduced their eyeshadow line, the beautiverse went berserk.  My Walgreens has THE absolute sweetest makeup lady, and she told me her phone was ringing off the hook with people calling to see when they would have these in stock during the launch.  Here are my Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow picks!

picture-of-milani-bella-eyes-gel-powder-eyeshadow

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow

They have some truly gorgeous nude shades, but since I have soooo many nudes (I know, they are all different), I chose colors that I didn’t already have a ton of.  Are you ready???

picture-of-milani-bella-eyes-gel-powder-eyeshadow

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow

Whoa.

There are a great variety of hues that come in three formulas – satin matte, shimmer, and metallic.  I picked two satin mattes and two shimmers.

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow Swatches

I was going to just wash my hands after swatching on my arm, but thought, “Hey, this is too pretty”.  Wasn’t so fun trying to hold the camera in my left hand (I’m right handed) to snap this photo.  I believe every cuss world I know came out of my mouth.  Really.  However, this is a true picture of the shadow.

Pinky to index finger: Bella Emerald, Bella Violet, Bella Fuchsia, Bella Navy.

picture-of-milani-bella-eyes-gel-powder-eyeshadow-swatches

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow Swatches (L-R Bella Navy, Bella Fuchsia, Bella Violet, Bella Emerald)

Above swatches on my arm are over primer.

Now for the down and dirty.  *Again, this is my experience with these shadows, with my medium/olive skintone*.  As pigmented as these look, they took a bit of work/experimentation in terms of using them.  All the shadows were very soft, with no fallout.  An eyeshadow primer is a must.  I did find that my choices were better suited for application with fingers vs brush.

My standout was Bella Navy (satin matte).  It was pigmented, easy to blend, and worked with a brush or fingers.

My fail (that I had such hopes for!) was Bella Fuchsia (satin matte).  You see how it looks in the pan.  I was hoping it would be a very pigmented pink.  Did not work at all with a brush (I had to load it up, and apply over and over with no good result).  However, it applied much better with my finger.  So, as a lid color, good.  As a crease/transition color, not so good.

My next favorite is Bella Emerald (shimmer).  This one was so/so with a brush, but gorgeous applied with a finger.  I will keep working on ways to incorporate this, as it really is a beautiful shade.

Last, but not least, is Bella Violet (shimmer).  For me, a total fail with the brush, but worked fabulously with my finger.  Again, a good lid color.  Not that you would put this in your crease anyways.

So there you have it.  At $4 a pop, I think it’s a great investment.

Have you tried these shadows, and how did you like your choices?

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

Loreal Collection Privee Evas Nude

Hello my gorgeous people!  Earlier this evening, I went outside to water my flower pots, and got totally eaten up by mosquitoes.  They love, love, love me.  I usually spray up with OFF! even for a 5 minute jaunt outside in the evening.  Totally forgot this time, and I was the equivalent of a Las Vegas deluxe buffet for those stupid bloodsuckers.  I honestly got about 15 bites in 15 minutes.  Ugh!  You know how we stash lip balm/hand sanitizer/gum all over the place, and always have some with us?  That is how I am with mosquito repellent.  Seriously.  I get gigantic welts all over my body from their bites, and they itch like crazy!!!

Sorry for the whining, but the struggle is real.  Onto my review at hand – the L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude!

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude

L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude

Or, Private Collection.  L’Oreal occasionally does collaborations with various celebrities to create a shade to match different skintones/complexions/ethnicities.  This go round was a range of nudes.  The packaging:  A sleek, black, matte lipstick case with gold accents.  Really glam!

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude

L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude

I chose Eva’s Nude (Eva Longoria), created for light to medium skintones.  Is it not gorgeous?

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude

L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude

JLo also created a shade for medium/olive complexions (more me), but when I saw it in person at the drugstore, it looked a bit cool/beige (so can’t do beige).  Eva’s looked more warm/pink, so that’s what I chose!

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude

L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I struggle with nude lipsticks.  I think it is because my lips are not very pigmented.  I think all of the color on my face is in my skin.  I have a true medium/olive complexion, and my lips are pretty pale in comparison.  Therefore, nude lipsticks wash me out.

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude-swatch

L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude Swatch

Generally what you see on my arm is not what you see on my lips (pigmentation!!).

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude-closeup

L’oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude Closeup

See what I mean?  The formula is what I would consider a satin – good pigmentation, though not opaque, with a bit of shimmer.  The lipstick is very soft, and easy to apply.  It does have the “signature” Colour Riche baby powder scent that some people find offensive.  Doesn’t bother me.

picture-of-loreal-collection-privee-evas-nude

L’Oreal Collection Privee Eva’s Nude

See, it doesn’t really do much for me.  I think it washes me out, as most nudes do.  There was a nude for “deep” skintones, but you know me.  I’d rather wear my usual vibrant, dark colors.  Because they work for me.  I do have some “lighter” colors I like that may qualify as nudes for someone with my coloring.  Future post!

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

Hello Sweetpeas!  I am going to just jump right into my Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine review.  Bite Beauty has just introduced several new shades into their Matte Creme line.

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

My first Bite Beauty lip product was their High Pigment Pencil, and I fell in love.  This line uses natural food grade ingredients, and is full of resveratrol; again, a natural antioxidant.

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

My color of choice was Aubergine, which Bite describes as “Eggplant”.  (Bonus French lesson – the vegetable we Americans call eggplant is an aubergine in France!!!).  No matter which language, PURPLE!

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

My camera isn’t the best at capturing true colors, but it really does look more “purple” than in my photos.

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

The formula is very creamy.  I did notice a difference in texture compared to the High Pigment Pencil. But is it a real matte lipstick???

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine-swatch

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine Swatch

Ah, not the true purple/aubergine/eggplant I’d hoped for, but I DO love the color.  The formula isn’t what you may be used to in the matte lipstick arena; unlike a MAC retro matte, or NARS matte…this has a bit of “shine” to it….

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine-swatch

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

As you can see, this photo does not look like a matte lipstick.  Though super pigmented, it is easy to apply, moisturizing, and comfortable to wear – without lip balm.  I got about 3-4 hours of wear, eating/drinking.

picture-of-bite-beauty-matte-creme-lip-crayon-aubergine

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Aubergine

In my opinion, this is not a true matte lipstick.  I think the formula is similar to the High Pigment Pencil.  A touch on the shiny side.  But, I do love Bite Beauty!  And I am a fan of their lip products!!  I find this matte a bit lacking as a true matte formula.  It may be my color choice.  However, I will be using more Bite Beauty, and trying more matte pencils.

Regardless, is it a great pen!

A Few Bronzers – Drugstore

Hello everyone!  I have been on a super organization mission this weekend.  I’m talking drawers and cabinets.  Digging the instant gratification and the feeling of accomplishment tidying up small spaces.  A primer for my bigger challenge – my closet!  Ugh!  While going through my stuff, I found a previous long-time favorite bronzer tucked away, long forgotten.  So I decided to round him up and talk about a few bronzers – drugstore!

picture-of-a-few-bronzers-drugstore

A Few Bronzers – Drugstore

One of my favorite drugstore brands is Physicians Formula.  Um, the bronzers in this post are all PF.  With NYX tagging along.  I do have an olive complexion, so keep that in mind as you read my favorites.

The aforementioned abandoned love is this Physicians Formula Glow Boosting Pressed Shimmer Bronzer in Med-Dark.

It comes apart, with a built in brush and a mirror on the bottom of the pan.  I have used it so much the writing along the bottom of the brush is completely worn off.  And you can see the wear in the pan.  It does have shimmer, so it is strictly for bronzing, not contouring.  This is probably my favorite bronzer from PF.  It gives me a healthy glow, with just the right amount of shimmer.  I am so happy we are reunited.

Glow Boosting Season To Season Bronzer

This is the Glow Boosting Season to Season Bronzer in Med-Dark.  It has shades for winter, spring, summer, fall (makes me think of James Taylor).  I found the shades too light for me, regardless of the season.  The “Spring” was used up a bit by my beloved niece during a visit (she is very fair).  The rest is untouched.

Boscia Blotting Linens Review

Hey lovely people!  The dog days of summer are upon us.  I find August to be the hottest month here in Georgia.  Most areas in the country begin feeling a bit of relief from the heat, but we are supposed to be 112 degrees next Friday with the heat index!  We usually don’t start to feel a change in the temperature until mid-September.  So, I want to share my Boscia Blotting Linens Review with you, as it is truly a life saver when I feel like my makeup is melting off my face!

Boscia is a Japanese-based company that creates preservative-fee, botanically-based skincare products.

picture-of-boscia-blotting-linens-review

Boscia Blotting Linens Review

“Blotting Papers/Linens” are exactly that – squares of special paper that you press against your face to remove any excess oil/perspiration.  Boscia offers many types of blotting papers linens.

When you’re hot, sweaty, and greasy feeling, do you really want to put a powder on your face to “touch up” (no matter how translucent/lightweight it is)???  Then deal with the yucky applicator again (bacteria?!).  Then there’s the build up of cakey powder on your mug after you’ve had to re-apply multiple times.  And your poor skin not being able to breathe after drowning in powder!

If you have “mature” skin like me, all that powder is a recipe for disaster.  These blotting linens have been a lifesaver for me!

boscia-blotting-linens-review

Boscia Blotting Linens Green Tea

My latest purchase was their Limited Edition Green Tea linens.

picture-of-boscia-blotting-linens-review

Boscia Blotting Linens Fresh

This is my go-to that I buy all the time (Fresh).  As you can see, he is a bit beat up from living in my purse.  But I wanted to give him some love as well.

picture-of-boscia-blotting-linens-review

Boscia Blotting Linens Review

They come in a very compact package.  Each holds 100 sheets.

picture-of-boscia-blotting-linens-review

Boscia Blotting Linens Review

The green tea is on the left, the regular (Fresh) is on the right.  I stick to my “Fresh” usually.  However, if I happen to catch a LE edition, I snatch it right up.

I have tried many drugstore blotting papers.  Boscia’s paper really makes it a “linen”.  It is super strong, really absorbs the ick, and you can see the evidence on the sheet afterwards.  Think bacon drained on a brown paper bag.

You can purchase these linens on the Boscia site, or on good old Sephora!

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner Review

Hello everyone!  Today I want to share with you my Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner Review.  Let me just start this post off by saying it appears Tarte has discontinued this product!!!  I am so upset!  This has been my favorite liquid liner for ages.  Don’t you hate when something you love so much just gets yanked off the market?  I know it’s beauty blogger lameness to review something discontinued.  However, I decided to still talk about it to extol all of it’s virtues in the event you happen to find one on the shelf somewhere.  And if you do, please make sure you let me know (wherever you are!).  I will be heading over to Ulta tomorrow to see if they happen to have any leftover.

picture-of-tarte-multipleye-lash-enhancing-liquid-eyeliner

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner

This is a vegan product.  It is formulated with water, soybean extract, mineral pigments, and hydroplant peptides; and free of all the bad junk (parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, etc).

picture-of-tarte-multipleye-lash-enhancing-liquid-eyeliner

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner

While I do love gel liners, I find eyeliner “pens” much easier to work with.  Gel pots always seem to dry out, quickly losing their appeal.  This liner is a super pigmented black.  It applies very smoothly and the line stays crisp and fresh without smudging all day long.

picture-of-tarte-multipleye-lash-enhancing-liquid-eyeliner

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner

Since it is a pen, I find it really easy to control.  The pen is “spring loaded”, so when you open/close it, it draws the tip back into the tube, keeping it from drying out.   Each time you open it, it is fresh and “inked”.  Like an automatic calligraphy pen.  It also has some sort of mixing thing within (like a spray paint can or nail polish), so shaking it up before opening ensures you get the perfect amount of product on the tip.

picture-of-tarte-multipleye-lash-enhancing-liquid-eyeliner-closeup

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner Closeup

It has a super sharp tip that is really soft and flexible, so it’s not like trying to use an unyielding sharpie on your eyelid.  It makes winged liner foolproof.  No thinking involved.  If you have small eyes like me, it really allows you to get precise.

picture-of-tarte-multipleye-lash-enhancing-liquid-eyeliner

Tarte Multipleye Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner

I can’t really speak for the “lash enhancing”.  I love this liner so much I really don’t know/care if it does anything for my lashes.

NARS Lip Gloss Sixties Fan Review

Hey Everyone!  Happy Sunday.  I had the ’80s cable TV music station on today as I was puttering around the house.  All of a sudden, “Please Don’t Go Girl” from The New Kids on The Block came on.  Isn’t it amazing how a song can take you right back to a certain time/place in your life?  For me, it wasn’t hanging their posters on the wall or dissolving into preteen hysteria at one of their concerts.  I was pretty much grown during their heyday, and I wasn’t exactly a fan.  I was just a much younger version of myself then, so it was a nostalgic moment.  Love how music can do that to you!  I am definitely a ’80s fan, so is it a coincidence that today I am doing a NARS Lip Gloss Sixties Fan Review?  (Clever  segue, wouldn’t you say?).

picture-of-nars-lip-gloss-sixties-fan-review

NARS Lip Gloss Sixties Fan

For those of you who aren’t regular visitors, my project this year has been to find some “tolerable” lip glosses.  I have always heard how fabulous the ones from NARS are.  Apparently they reformulated them, and now they’re even BETTER!  I am a huge NARS fan, but have never tried their glosses.

picture-of-nars-lip-gloss-sixties-fan-review

NARS Lip Gloss Sixties Fan

No doubt, they have a multitude of shades!  The “nude lip” camp is fanatical over their offerings.

picture-of-nars-lip-gloss-sixties-fan-review

NARS Lip Gloss Sixties Fan

Of course, I am drawn to the darker hues.  I chose Sixties Fan, described by NARS as “Pomegranate”.

picture-of-nars-lip-gloss-sixties-fan-closeup

To me, it is a gorgeous purple/berry shade.

picture-of-nars-lip-gloss-sixties-fan-swatch

The swatch above is multiple swipes on the left, single stroke on the right.

This NARS gloss is definitely a winner in my book!  It is not sticky, greasy, or slimy on the lips.  Or thick and gummy.  The perfect texture, and very comfortable to wear.

It also has great pigmentation that can be built up.  I got about 3 hours wear, and it faded evenly, and got a bit tacky like a lip balm (not a bad feeling).

This will probably close my lip gloss quest.  I am happy glosses have evolved, and I have been able to find some that I enjoy.

However, if there is some fabulous gloss you adore, please share with me in the comments!

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil

Hello my lovely cupcakes!  I have had a big ‘ol cupcake monkey on my back these last few days.  He has been relentless in his desire to feed his addiction.  He’s gonna hit the road tomorrow.  I’ve done very well cleaning up my diet and working out since returning from my big trip that involved a lot of BAD eating and waaay too much drinking.  So cupcakes are a definite “NO”.  During said trip, we stayed in three different hotels.  I left my cleanser in the first one.  Figures, right?  So I had to make do with what I could find in the next city, and chose the Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil.

picture-of-garnier-nourishing-cleansing-oil

Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil

I am a huge fan of cleansing oils.  I currently use the Philosophy Purity Made Simple oil.   After switching to their oil, I put my regular Purity Made Simple cleanser in my travel bag, as it’s easier to travel with.  And that is what got left behind in hotel #1.

Next stop was New Orleans.  We stayed in the French Quarter, and my only avenue for cleanser shopping was Walgreens.  I’m grateful there are drugstores in the Quarter!  I was with three girls, however; so I was not in imminent danger of having to go to bed without taking my makeup off!

picture-of-garnier-nourishing-cleansing-oil

Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil

I was really taken aback by the lack of drugstore cleansing oils!!  I was going to go for the good old Ponds Cold Cream when I saw this Garnier oil.  I figured everything I’ve tried from Garnier was good, from skincare to hair care.  Plus, as you can see, it “dissolves impurities & makeup; replenishes skin”.  With Jojoba & Macadamia Oils.  Sold!

Ugh.  What a disaster this cleansing oil was!!!  I really hate posting negative reviews.  Also, please note, this is my personal opinion.

I remove my eye makeup thoroughly before cleaning my face.  I put two pumps of this oil in my hands, and applied it to my face, working it in, and emulsifying with water, as you do all oil cleansers (and per the instructions on the label).  The water did not blend with this oil whatsoever.  It was like an oil and vinegar salad dressing.  The water kept beading up on my skin, fighting the oil.  And it had a weird, plastic-y fragrance.

It felt like the oil was just sitting on the surface of my face, and did not remove my makeup at all.  It was a really weird experience.  After the ordeal, I dried my face with the standard, pristine white hotel towel, and all of my makeup came off into the towel.  Not good.

Thank goodness for my travel companion Adj (she hails from London), who brought along this WONDERFUL Boots Foaming Witch Hazel cleanser (saved my life).  I should have stolen it from her when she wasn’t looking.  And for those of you in the UK, definitely get the Boots Witch Hazel cleanser!!!!

So after my bitching about how awful this cleanser was, Adj took a look at the ingredients.  Guess what????  The first ingredient is MINERAL OIL.  I was so star struck by “Jojoba & Macadamia” oil, I didn’t even peruse the ingredient list.  Once I got home, I took a close look at my Philosophy oil, and the name is “Purity Made Simple Mineral Oil-Free Cleansing Oil”.  No mineral oil.  It totally removes my makeup, and nothing in the towel after using it.

Uh-huh.  KP needs to pay attention to the ingredients list!

I was going to chuck this in the trash and be done.  But, travelling with bloggers, they insisted I needed to take this home and blog about it.  So I did.  Again, I hate to be negative, and again, this is totally my opinion on how this product worked for me.

picture-of-garnier-nourishing-cleansing-oil-review

Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil

After photographing this, I noticed it got really cloudy, and was not the original “clear” oil.  It did settle eventually, but ????

Y’all have no idea what a camera ham Murphy has turned out to be.  Since this post wasn’t too photo heavy, I hope y’all will indulge me.  You have no idea how many pics I take of him when I take pics for posts, but don’t include.

Please let me know if you’ve discovered a good drugstore cleansing oil.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my Cetaphil cleanser, Cerave cleanser, and Neutrogena wipes.

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil Amarone

Hello my lovelies!!!  Getting back into my regular routine, slowly but surely.  Work has been totally crazy.  Been detoxing since my over-indulgent vacay.  I don’t even know where to start with products to review.  So, I picked up where I left off.  Again, I’m late to the Bite Beauty party (not as late as I was to NYX).  That being said, I want to share with you my review of Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil Amarone!!

picture-of-bite-beauty-high-pigment-pencil-amarone

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil Amarone

Bite Beauty is a line that uses food grade ingredients in their formulas.

picture-of-bite-beauty-high-pigment-pencil-amarone1

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil Amarone

Yes, you can totally eat their lipsticks, if you choose.  Plus, they are loaded with Resveratrol, a super anti-oxidant found in skins of red grapes.  And red wine.  I should be good to go.  Their website states one application to your lips has the anti-oxidant power of 4 glasses of red wine.

picture-of-bite-beauty-high-pigment-pencil-amarone

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil Amarone

I am totally in love with this pencil!!!  It is so super pigmented, smells/tastes great, and applies so easily!!

This color is like you ate a cherry popsicle, but had something moisturizing on your lips after.

picture-of-bite-beauty-high-pigment-pencil-amarone3

The formula is very soft, so when I sharpen my pencil, I put it in the freezer overnight, and sharpen the next day.  UPDATE – I am such a ditz sometimes.  I just realized this is actually a twisty tube.  So no need to sharpen.  I am leaving the tip though, because it does work if you have to sharpen anything soft/creamy.

Again, thanks for reading!!!

Blogger Meetup!

Hello Everyone!  Long time no see!  I cannot believe I haven’t blogged in three weeks!!!  I have had the most amazing time during my absence, and wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to – meeting and hanging out with fellow bloggers!!!  I didn’t take my camera with me on my excursions, so pardon the odd sized photos that I had to edit from my phone camera.  It’s all good!

First up is my second meeting with the lovely Aussie blogger, Rosie, from A Red Lip and A Nude Shoe.  We met for the first time earlier this year when hubby and I went to Sydney, Australia.  We so hit it off, and have been in constant contact with each other.  Because of her obsession love of Def Leppard, she decided to come to the States earlier than planned for their limited US tour (along with KISS), and brought along her childhood bestie, Tez (who is now my bestie too!).  Tez’s first time in America.  We chose the PNC Music Pavillion in Charlotte, NC to see them.

My Aussie girls landed in Atlanta on July 17 (after spending time in the Napa Valley and Seattle).  We picked them up, hung out in boring Augusta for a day, then headed to Charlotte.  Oh, did I mention, we got VIP packages to meet the Leppard boys? And sat in the second row at the concert????

We had to line up for the VIP photo op, and it started to seriously rain.  Really???  We are about to get our photo taken with Def Leppard, and we are wet as hell (I wish I had a “before” pic, because our hair was on point). Really, it was.

picture-of-blogger-meetup-def-leppard-vip

Def Leppard VIP

Now, it’s our time for the photo.  Rosie adores Rick Allen (the drummer), and he remembers her from the coffee shop in Vegas from last year.  She is DONE.  Ready to head back to the Land Down Under, and there were tears.

picture-of-def-leppard-meet-and-greet

Def Leppard Meet And Greet

Next, we all fly to New Orleans (July 21) for some fun, and to meet up with Adj (who flew in from London). Also her first time in America!!!  I now know how to pronounce her first and last name.  She blogs at Love, Adjpants.  She is also a friend of Rosie and Tez, and now a fabulous friend of mine!  So, another  blogger I got to meet, and hang out with!!!

First stop was Pat O’Briens for some Hurricanes!  At this point, we decided we were the United Colors of Benetton Bitches!!!! Of course, you can see it, right?

picture-of-blogger-meet-up-pat-obriens

Pat O’Briens

Next, we met the sweetheart Chelsea from Tiger Love Beauty!  She lives in Louisiana, and attends LSU!!

picture-of-blogger-meetup-new-orleans

We hung out with Chelsea and her friend Ashley.  We did breakfast at The Old Coffee Pot, the French Market stalls, then gorged ourselves with the Muffuletta at Central Grocery.  I am so happy I got to meet her.  Love ya Chels!

picture-of-blogger-meetup-new-york-city

Blogger Meetup New York City

Then, we flew from New Orleans to New York (July 24)!!!!  Times Square selfie!  We stayed at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.  Had a fabulous time in the Big Apple!  As you can imagine, so many things to do in the city.

picture-of-blogger-meetup-nyc

Blogger Meetup NYC

I also got to meet Hannah from Hannah, Here.  Funny thing is she is from Colorado, and happened to be in NYC when I was, and the planets aligned just right, and we got to meet up!  We share a love of barre workouts (she did a Physique57 workout in NYC!) and kitties, so I was super excited to meet her.

After New York, my babies went on to Vegas and LA. I had a date with Sarah McLachlan in Atlanta, with my homies here in Georgia.  Pre-concert burgers!!!

picture-of-farm-burger-buckhead

Farm Burger Buckhead

Sarah McLachlan is one of my very favorites!!!  She did not disappoint.  Me and my gals had a fabulous time, but they did hear about how much I enjoyed meeting all of the fabulous bloggers/friends I met this month!!!!

Again, thanks for reading, and I have a TON of reviews coming up!

And thanks to Chelsea and Hannah for meeting up with me!!!

NYX Butter Gloss Raspberry Tart, Cherry Pie Review

Hello lovelies!  I am again just going to jump right into my NYX Butter Gloss Raspberry Tart, Cherry Pie Review.  This is the part two of my previous post on the Praline and Red Velvet shades.

picture-of-nyx-butter-gloss-raspberry-tart-cherry-pie-review

NYX Butter Gloss Raspberry Tart, Cherry Pie Review

If you read my initial review, you know I am in love with these glosses!  I wanted to share the other two colors I picked up.

picture-of-nyx-butter-gloss-raspberry-tart-cherry-pie-review

NYX Butter Gloss Raspberry Tart, Cherry Pie Review

NYX describes Raspberry Tart as “Violet”, and Cherry Pie as “Red”.

picture-of-nyx-butter-gloss-raspberry-tart-cherry-pie-swatches

NYX Butter Gloss Raspberry Tart, Cherry Pie Swatches

While the Raspberry Tart does indeed look violet in the tube, on me it is a pinky-berry shade.

I really love this Raspberry shade!

The Cherry Pie is more of an orange-red.  Again, you can see the comparison with Red Velvet on my other review.

Cherry Pie is more summer appropriate, as it is a cooler red.

I think my disillusion with “lip gloss” stems from the older formulas that were thin, slippery, sticky, and verrrry sheer.  These NYX Butter Glosses are giving me hope!

PS – I had my hair colored today, and realized as I was adding the photos, I have some major dye stains on my hairline.  I normally don’t have my hair off my face, but it was so damn hot today, I decided to pull it away.  So, don’t think it was contouring-gone-wrong!!!!  My stylist usually cleans me up really well, but I reckon she was hot also!  So don’t hate!

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

NYX Butter Gloss Praline, Red Velvet Review

Hello my lovely peeps!  I’m gonna just jump right in to my NYX Butter Gloss Praline, Red Velvet Review.  Let me begin by saying I am very, very late to this party.  Like, “maybe-my- invitation-got-lost-in-the-mail” kind of late.  If you are a regular here, you know I am not that into lip gloss, but have been trying to find a couple that I might be able to tolerate.

Boy, am I glad I crashed this party!!!

picture-of-nyx-butter-gloss-praline-red-velvet-review

NYX Butter Gloss Praline, Red Velvet Review

Though highly praised in the blogosphere, I never paid them any mind because they were a gloss.  The last time Ulta had them on sale, I thought I’d try a few out to see what the fuss was about.  I chose shades in the darker/deeper end of the spectrum.  I wanted to do them all in one big post, but to keep it short, I will do a part 2 for the other colors.

picture-of-nyx-butter-gloss-praline-red-velvet-review

NYX Butter Gloss Praline, Red Velvet Review

NYX describes Praline as “Deep Nude” and Red Velvet as “Deep Red”.

picture-of-nyx-butter-gloss-praline-red-velvet-swatches

For my complexion, warm browns with a tinge of pink undertones work best as a “nude”.

NYX Butter Gloss Praline Review

This is a totally wearable nude for me!  If you are medium/olive toned, and can’t seem to find a nude to suit you, I would suggest giving this one a try!

The Red Velvet is a gorgeous, blue toned red.  But since it’s in a gloss formulation, it’s not at all vampy.

These “glosses” are almost like a liquid lipstick.  They are very opaque, but shiny.  Not sticky.  They do have a very sweet smell, but not cloying.  I love them.

In case you were living in a cave like me about these glosses, they are $5 each, but you can find them on sale occasionally at Ulta, BOGO 50% off (like I did).  That is a REAL value!  Even at full price, these babies are awesome!!!  So chalk these in the win column in my gloss quest!!

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

There is a part 2 of this series!

MAC Syrup, Up the Amp Lipstick Review

Hello everyone!  I hope my US peeps had a great 4th, and continue to enjoy the long weekend.  My doggies did not dig the fireworks going on last night.  Last year, it didn’t bother them.  Maybe because they were only a year old?  This year was a whole different story.  Glad that’s all over with!!!  It was pandemonium at KP’s for sure!!!!

picture-of-mac-syrup-up-the-amp-lipstick-review

MAC Syrup, Up the Amp Lipstick Review

It’s all about pink on the blog today!  This is my MAC Syrup and Up the Amp Lipstick Review.

My favorite color is pink, but not when it comes to my lip products.  I love MAC lipsticks, and chose two of their pinks to help me in my on-going quest to embrace lighter lip colors.

picture-of-mac-syrup-up-the-amp-lipstick-review

MAC Syrup and Up the Amp Lipstick Review

I chose Syrup, a Lustre formula, and Up the Amp, an Amplified Creme formula.

picture-of-mac-syrup-up-the-amp-lipstick-review

MAC Up the Amp on top, MAC Syrup below

Different ends of the spectrum for sure, but gorgeous colors!

picture-of-mac-syrup-up-the-amp-lipstick-swatches

MAC Up the Amp swatch on top, MAC Syrup swatch below

Here’s where it gets wonky – like it often does with my lipstick reviews.  The colors in the tube and the colors in the swatches do not translate onto my lips.  I don’t know why????  My lips aren’t super pigmented (or maybe they are, and I’m a dummy?).  I swatch on my inner arm, which closely resembles my face.  But when I put colors on my lips, they are totally not like the swatches!  I take my lip/face photos and the makeup/swatches under the same lighting, with the same camera, with the same settings.  But with darker shades, they translate true (so maybe that’s where I should stay!!!).  So here we go:

picture-of-mac-syrup-up-lipstick-closeup

MAC Syrup Lipstick Closeup

Does that look like the tube/swatch?

On me:

picture-of-mac-syrup-lipstick-review

MAC Syrup Lipstick Review

The color in the tube is gorgeous, as well as the swatch.  I don’t hate this on me, but I don’t think it is very flattering either.  Maybe it’s the vampy lipstick lover in me?

picture-of-mac-up-the-amp-lipstick-closeup

MAC Up the Amp Lipstick Closeup

Does that look like the tube/swatch?

On me:

picture-of-mac-up-the-amp-lipstick-review

MAC Up the Amp Lipstick Review

Like the swatch on my arm, I was hoping for a pinky-violet shade on me.  Don’t get me wrong, I do like this on me, but was hoping more for a result like my pink lipstick DIVA Anoushka.  We have similar coloring, but Up the Amp looks totally different on her!

So, maybe KP needs to stay on her dark lipstick path???  They do me right.

Again, thanks for reading!  kxoxo

A Few Concealers – High End

Happy Independence Day, ‘Murica!  I hope my fellow US peeps have a fab holiday!  We are a very patriotic family that loves all things about our great country, and proud to be Americans!  Last week I posted a review on drug store concealers – this is part 2 – A Few Concealers – High End!

picture-of-a-few-concealers-high-end

A few concealers – high end

Fortunately, I do not have dark under eye circles.  I mainly use concealers to brighten up my face and/or hide my gawd awful hyper-pigmentation and redness (lots of broken capillaries on my mug!).  All those years of sun worshiping has taken it’s toll!  Young women – use sunscreen on your face every day, and do not bake your face!  Wear a hat, shield your face, and use bronzer for color!  You will absolutely pay for it as you get older in a big way if you don’t!!!  *end of PSA*

(Before I get deep into it, I did find THE best concealer for my redness – IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness.  Check it out if you have issues with that).

I am medium/olive complected, and NC40 in MAC for comparison purposes.  And as in my previous post, I use different shades/consistencies for different issues.

picture-of-mac-pro-longwear-concealer-nc30

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NC30

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer:

This concealer is my Holy Grail for under eye and brightening.  It does not budge or crease.  It stays put.  Very easy to blend into the skin.  It comes in 16 shades, from the whitest white to the deepest tones.  L-O-V-E!!!  I use NC30.  We’ve been doing a lot of outdoor concerts, and this baby has gone the distance in this humidity and heat.

The only thing I don’t like about this is the pump applicator.  It dispenses too much product (I try to do a “half-pump”).  A little goes a long way with this formula, and I feel I’m wasting it.  It doesn’t matter though.  Even if it gushed out, I’d keep buying it.  I hate to even mention this, but I gotta keep it real.

picture-of-occ-concealer-y3

OCC Concealer Y3

OCC Conceal:

I ADORE OCC Lip Tars.  However, the concealer not so much.  I purchased this in the shade Y3 to help with my hyper-pigmentation, so it was for face only.  To me, it was very “cakey” and hard to work with.  You can see in the photo the air pockets (ie – dryness).  I even tried to emulsify the formula by rubbing it between my fingers before application.  It was like it was pilling up and rolling off my skin rather than blending into it.  Weird.  The color match was perfect, but I just don’t dig the formula.  It does come in 12 shades, but I cannot even fathom trying to put this under your eyes!!!

picture-of-benefit-erase-paste-medium

Benefit Erase Paste Medium

Benefit Erase Paste:

This was also purchased for my face (at Ulta in a smaller sample size).  Through no fault of Benefit, the color was not a match. I got Medium, but it is way too pink for my skin.  If you are fairer, this will probably work for you.  Darker girls, no.  The formula is very creamy and easy to work with.  However, most “Medium” shades are warmer, and this is definitely very cool/pink.  I couldn’t make it work under my eyes either.  This comes in 3 shades.

Cle de Peau Concealer Honey Closeup

Cle de Peau Concealer:

The Rolls Royce of concealers, and with good reason (it’s wicked expensive).  I bought this in the shade Honey.  Again, for my face.  It is a fabulous multi-tasker, as it works on my face to conceal the yuck, but I can also use it under my eyes!!!  Since this is such a close color match for my face, it does not have the brightening effect under my eyes.  But the formula is so fabulous, you can use it all over!!!  I wish I could afford to get a lighter shade for under eye!!!  And of course, my camera chooses to act up when I’m photographing the creme-de-la-creme!  Oh well.  Seriously.  I tried every available window/angle.  Ugh!  CDP is available in 4 shades.

Swatches are on my arm, but I hope they give you an idea!

A Few Concealers – Drugstore

Hey Y’all!  It’s almost the weekend!  I am going to see Pat Benatar and Rick Springfield in concert this Saturday with one of my besties!  So excited!  I have really been on a concert roll these last few weeks.  I am planning a post to encompass the great shows I’ve seen so far.  In the meantime, I have a review of A Few Concealers – Drugstore I’d like to share.

picture-of-a-few-concealers-drugstore

A Few Concealers – Drugstore

I think concealers are one of the most invaluable makeup products.  They can conceal a multitude of sins, from under-eye to the face.  I typically use a beauty blender for my under-eye concealer after foundation, or on days when I’m not using foundation, my fingers to dab on areas I want to camouflage.  You need different formulas/shades for whatever you are trying to hide, so here are my picks from the drugstore!  Note – I am NC40 in MAC/medium/olive complexion.

picture-of-maybelline-instant-age-rewind-concealer-medium

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser:

This is a beauty blogger favorite, and with good reason.  It is so easy to apply with that sponge applicator, and comes in six different shades (including a Neutralizer and Brightener shade).  It contains treatment for dark circles – Goji Berry, and Haloxyl.  I use this strictly in my under-eye area, so Medium is a great shade for me (a bit lighter than my face).

picture-of-loreal-true-match-crayon-concealer-medium-deep

L’Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer in Medium/Deep

L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Crayon Concealer:

I purchased this strictly to hide imperfections on my face – not for use under-eye.  I think the formula may be a bit too heavy for the delicate under-eye area.  It is very smooth and easy to blend on the face to conceal redness/pigmentation.  It comes in six shades also – my match was Medium/Deep (W 6,7,8) – strictly for the face!

picture-of-maybelline-fit-me-concealer-medium

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer:

This has really worked as a multi-tasker for me.  I can use it under my eyes, as well as cover imperfections on my face.  I purchased this as soon as it came out, so the packaging doesn’t look like what it does now.  This comes in six shades also (what’s up with that!!!) – I chose Medium/25.  I use it under my eyes, and also to cover up nastiness on my face.  It works like a charm!

I love these more as a face highlighter.  I do not have problems with dark circles, because of my complexion.  These were made to help conceal circles with illuminating properties.

However, I have problems with under-eye bags.  I do use the lightest shade they offer (Ivory/320) to offset my puffy-eye days.  And it works!  Six shades for these as well!

I like using Radiant as a highlight on my face!  However, if you are very fair, and need to conceal under-eye circles, I think Ivory will work for you.

Make Up For Ever Lip Line Perfector

Hello lovelies!!  I hope you have had a great week so far.  It’s gotten so hot here in Georgia that I have had to cut out my runs outdoors, and find workouts to do inside in the air conditioning!  The dog days of summer are upon us!  The hot weather also means a change in makeup.  Everything wants to run and smear.  I want to share my review of the Make Up For Ever Lip Line Perfector, which will keep your lip products in line, no matter what the temperatures are!  Even for those of you that are in the winter season!

Yep.  It is a colorless, anti-feathering lip pencil.

I have had a love/hate relationship with lip liners.  It was “de rigueur” back in the ’90s.  If you bought a lipstick, you got a matching liner.

As trends came and went, I thought lip liner was left in the past, much like French manicures.  But wait!  People still get French manicures (why?).  And still use lip liners.

Maybe I’ve gotten too lazy to line my lips?  Or think to purchase a liner when I get a new lipstick?  Let me defend myself by saying the liners in the ’90s were hard, dry, and harsh to apply.  And way less forgiving than if you had just applied your lipstick directly to your lips.  But we would have never done that back then!!!

So after the ’90s, I stopped using liners.  And y’all know I love my dark/vampy/deep lipsticks.  I never missed liner.  But certain lip products bled, and I thought maybe I need to rethink lip liners.

So, when I discovered MUFE had a clear liner, I was totally on board to give it a try!  Clear meant I could use it with every color without having to be matchy-matchy with a liner.

And boy, am I glad I did!

This is a miracle worker!  You just line the outside of your lips (since it’s clear, you don’t have to be an artist to apply it “just so”).  Whatever lip product you’re using, it will not cross the demarcation line of this baby.  I have used this with all the lip products I’ve posted about in the past that had issues with bleeding.  Problem solved.

This is not a wood pencil – it’s the plastic-y kind.  I didn’t take a photo before I used it, and I tested it a lot for different products.  Here’s how it looks all sharpened up.

If you don’t use darker lipsticks, you probably won’t need this.  However, if you have more mature skin/lip lines, this will help keep your lipstick in place.

I am extremely happy with this purchase!

Do you use lip liners?

As always, thanks for reading!  kxoxo
