Maybelline Brow Precise Review

Hello beautiful people!  Now that most of my regularly watched TV shows have finished their seasons, I’ve started looking for other programs to get sucked into.  My first choice was “House Of Cards”.  For me, there is a delicious decadence in being able to binge watch seasons of a show (if you like it, of course!).  The first season was good, but not an, “I’m so hooked, I’m gonna stay up all night watching five episodes back-to-back”, kind of good.  The second season is a whole different story!  I’m there!  I am not even going to tell you how late I stayed up last night watching.  “The Good Wife” is next.  Let me know your favorites so I can give those a whirl!

I am also always trying to find the “next best thing” in brow products; so here is my Maybelline Brow Precise review.

Before I even start, I would like to point out a discrepancy between the pencil shown under the word “precise” on the package vs the actual pencil.  ???

On a recent trip to the drugstore (I think CVS?), there was a display of new brow products from Maybelline Eye Studio featuring eyebrow pencils and brow mascaras.  I chose the brow pencil (excuse me, “shaping pencil”) in Deep Brown.  There are 3 other color offerings: Blonde, Soft Brown, and Auburn.

The display was all about “The Brow Look: Naturally Shaped Brows”.  Sounds good to me!

My brows require a lot of work because they are very sparse.  Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products are my Holy Grail.  They are a bit pricey; so anytime I see something with potential, I’m all about testing it out.  Especially if I can find an option from the drugstore!

The Brow Precise offers the brow pencil on one end; a spoolie on the other.

It is a wood pencil that requires sharpening.

I think the spoolie is sort of on the small end, but it is really firm and does a great job.

The texture of this pencil is very soft and creamy.  It really sticks to your brow hairs, and keeps them in place.  It’s almost like a pencil/wax combo.

If you are someone that already has good brows and only need something to enhance what you’ve already got, this is the perfect for you!

However, if you are like me, and need to sort of paint your eyebrows on (especially the tail), and do a lot of filling in, this may not be the best option.  Since the formula is so creamy, it didn’t do a great job of creating a tail.  Also since it is so soft, I had to sharpen it after each use since I had to use a good bit of product.

I will use it up, but won’t repurchase.  It is a great pencil, but doesn’t meet my brow needs.  I will keep it afterwards for the spoolie though!

Overall, I think this is a great product, just not for me.

Again, thanks for reading!!!  xoxo

Thanks for the honest review Karen! I really dislike pencils that you have to sharpen in general because its a pain in the butt but the fact that this product is creamy and blends nice is a plus. Did you redesign your blog? I like it! I’m actually in the middle of having someone redesign mine too.

Thanks Tanya! Since you have such great brows, I think this product would be perfect for you, as you don’t have to “paint” anything on. Yes, I did give my blog a facelift. Not by myself. I bought the design on Etsy! Can’t wait to see your new blog!!!

I’m always on the lookout for good brow products. I currently use a combination of brow gel and pencil. Got my All about brows MeMe box and it had heaps of products there. Pencils can be a real hit and miss. Thanks for the honest reviews! X

Just read your Jan favorites post. Yes, ABH is pricey, but works the best for me. You may want to give this a go if you can find it there, especially if you just need to fill in/shape your brows.

Do you watch Nashville!? I love that show, and it’s coming back this week after a two month winter break! I have such finicky brows – they are sparse, wiry, hard to manage – seriously I need industrial strength brow gel to keep them in place lol. Right now the best thing I’ve found is using powders, it’s such a process to find the perfect product!

I don’t watch Nashville, but I know a lot of people love it. I’ve added it to my list of shows to check out. Oh, I wish I had better brows! Thank goodness for products! :)

That is so strange how the pencil is different from the picture! I don’t really do a lot to my brows, but I do like a good brow gel. I have so many shows I want to watch! House of Cards is on my list because I know the girl that’s the opera singer in Season 2 (or I think it’s season 2 anyway). I also need to get on the Scandal bandwagon, but I feel so far behind!

The opera singer was season 2. She was amazing! I wish they would have let the opera continue a bit more before changing scenes! It was “Madame Butterfly”. Let me know if you start HOC!
