Physicians Formula Argan Wear BB Cream and Blush

Hello beautiful people!  I just got back from the most wonderful birthday trip, and I’m recharged and ready to go!  The trip home was awful because of flight delays/cancellations, but we got home eventually at 2:00am Monday morning.  Ugh.  Then we went to see Elton John the next day here in Augusta!  Sir Elton has made frequent stops here in my town when he’s on the road.  I have a special place for him in my heart because he was the first “rock” artist I ever heard.  I grew up in Japan until my Dad got stationed in the US when I was 9.  Until then, the only music I was exposed to was my Daddy’s classic country & western (which I love to this day!), and my Mom’s Elvis.  When we got to America, there were tons of FM radio stations that played music I had never heard.  Back then, when you lived overseas, you only had American Forces Radio, which played very limited music.  So, when “Honky Cat” came on the radio, I was like, “What is this?????”.  And my love for Elton was forever cemented in that moment.  One of my cats is named Levon after one of his songs.  Whenever I go to concerts, I am so blown away by the fact that an artist writes music/lyrics, and people sing back to them in unison; word for word.  Music does join us all together!  That’s why I love it so much.

I had planned to do a review on the Physicians Formula Argan Wear BB Cream and Blush before I left, but it didn’t happen.  So, here it is!

Physicians Formula Argan Wear BB Cream and Blush

I am a huge fan of the Physicians Formula bronzers, concealers, and blushes, but had never tried any foundations.

I gotta admit the packaging is what drew me into the Argan Wear line!  The blush in itself is like a work of art!

The BB Cream is available in Light and Light/Medium.  Of course, I chose Light/Medium, and hoped it would work for me!  *Spoiler Alert* – it did.

The blush is offered in Natural and Rose.  I picked Rose.

The compact separates into lid, product (with mirror underneath), and a brush in the base.  The mirror is awesome.  The blush is very, very pink – my camera (probably my fault) makes it look more mauve/purple.  It is very disco pink in color (as you will see in swatches).

The gold flecks you can see is an over-spray.  After a couple of swipes with a blush brush, it’s gone.  Though it does blend into the surrounding blush.

Yay!  You can see the color of the blush!  It is a true pink.

My thoughts:

The BB cream is awesome!  It actually feels like a skin treatment when you apply it.  The package claims to “even out, smooth, moisturize, protect, and condition”.  It does.  It has moisturizer, argan oil, and SPF 30.  It is very light, and gives a dewy finish.  The coverage is a bit sheer, but it does even out your complexion.  Perfect for when you don’t want to do the whole foundation/powder thing, but want to look presentable.  I apply with a Beauty Blender.  I have a lot of redness, and this did not completely cover it up.  But again, I feel like I am presentable.  Albeit a bit red :D  My skin feels really soft and smooth after removing it also.  Because of the sheerness, light/medium worked perfectly for my skin tone.

The one tiny thing I don’t care for is the fragrance.  The back of the box claims it is an “exotically scented formula”.  It’s not chemical-y or perfume-y.  It’s an strange exotic scent alright.  It does fade after a while.  But very noticeable when you first apply.  But I love it, so I will deal with the smell!

However, I am not quite so enamored with the blush.  It is very pigmented, and is a bold pink shade.  But I find it very hard to blend.  I tend to be a bit heavy handed with blush, so I always buff with a complexion brush after applying.  This formula tended to just wear off rather than blend into my skin.  And the gold over spray glitter is a bit chunky.  I’m not sure if it will eventually disappear after using it longer?  We shall see.  Oh, and the blush has the same strange exotic fragrance.

I just bought the blush last week, I think I got the other shade though. I took photos of it for the blog but haven’t used it yet. I’ll be putting it to the test this week. I was able to wipe most of the stupid gold over-spray off so I’m hoping there won’t be much leftover. As pointless as it is, it does make the blush sooo pretty in the packaging lol! Glad you like the BB Cream!

Hi Karen, I would probably buy these products based on the pretty packaging too, lol. I tried the original PF BB cream formula All In One and it was actually the best BB cream I have ever tired. I am not big on BB creams though, I just prefer foundation.

I am so glad you enjoyed your birthday getaway so much, your pictures were so beautiful!

Thanks Agata! It was an awesome trip! I really love the Argan Wear BB cream! I am definitely a foundation girl, but sometimes when in a rush, BB creams are great!

Haha – for you, it is a FIRST!!! I have been hunting high and low for the city bronzers (like the Milani Rose blushes!!!). Maybe we’ll find them after the hype is over!!!

I loved seeing photos of your trip on Instagram! It looks like you had a great time. I’m glad you reviewed these. I probably would not have given that bb cream a second glance, but it sounds like a good one!

Love Elton John! I haven’t seen him yet. I was really hoping to see him when he last toured with Billy Joel, but I couldn’t get it to work out. He’s one of the few that my husband and I agree on. LOL! So glad you had a great trip!

That packaging is gorgeous. Really love that blush- the color payoff looks fantastic! Too bad it is hard to work with. I think scent is my main problem with PF products. Sometimes it’s just too much.

I’m dry, but we both live in humidity-ville. Not sure if this will be a great option in July/August! But I love it! Let me know if you give it a go!

First of all, Murphy is such a cutie pie! My kitty is also making an appearance on some of my blog posts because he’s always curious as I’m taking product photos. Hahah.

Second, I love the packaging of the PF products, they always look so high end. You just reminded me that I need to get pick up a few things from PF… You’re enabling my addiction. Haha. Thanks for sharing and I want that blush.
